Shop + Tell: Susie

Who:
Susie of Susie Can Stitch You can also read about what she's up to on her blog - I am Susie.

How often do you indie-shop?
I buy indie/handmade items online a few times a month. I also like to buy supplies and fabric online. I love everything I've bought online and I have found that it is really easy and fast to buy from small home based sellers, even when they are international. Unfortunately, I am at that stage in life when extras are really extra in our smallish house so I buy things that I know I will never ever make and that I find very inspiring. That covers quite a few categories!
Scores...oilcloth lunchbags made by Carol at The Rick Rack Queen on Etsy
How does it make you feel?
Cheerful, supportive, cute, practical, thrifty
What made you buy it?
Carol the Rick Rack Queen is one of my Flickr contacts. Her style matches my own in many ways and I'd seen her oilcloth bags on her blog - WIP and on her flickr account. It hit me that I couldn't go on without having my very own gingham, floral, and rickrack oilcloth lunchbag even though I don't have a job and don't really need a re-useable lunch sack. I went online right then and grabbed it impulsively. I gave one of these cute bags to my mom for Mother's Day and the other one I keep to carry small craft projects. Mom uses hers to carry smaller gardening supplies to the school prairie garden she supervises.
