Heart Lab: Simpli Jessi

Heart Lab is a brand new weekly feature on Heart Handmade that will give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of exactly what goes into your favorite handmade creations. I just truly believe that it's important for us all to be reminded of the process, with the hopes that we will in turn have a greater appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into all of the products you see here.

So without further a do, meet Agnes from Simpli Jessi...

1. haircut: 1 hour
2. cutting templates: 1 hour, ironing on adhesive: 5 mins.
3. sketching outfit: 2hrs., cutting pattern: 10 mins., handstitching:
missed an episode of LOST!
4. tag design in Illustrator: 2 wks., sourcing tag: 1 week
5. sourcing linen: 2 weeks + 10 emails + 5 days of phonetag
6. handstitched pockets: 20 mins. + 2 band-aids
7. sketching and cutting body: 30 mins., machine & handsewing body: 1 day
8. photo shoot: 2 hrs.
9. uploading photos and writing Etsy descriptions: 3 nights

Simpli Jessi is a such a wonderful shop, it's full of handmade unique and original items for children... big or small. Make sure to stop by and visit Agnes and her other cute pals! And thank you Jessi for showing us how much love and time went into making Agnes!

I'm cracking up at how long she says everything takes to make. It is all totally true and the etsy listings and photo shoots take the longest! Her gorgeous dolls are a bargain!
