Luke Twyman: Micro Fantasy

I'm so enamored with this illustration series by UK-based designer Luke Twyman. The work is perfect in its powerful simplicity, like a quiet masterpiece. Love.

... It was a project I'd been planning for a fair while, and in doing so I spent some time sketching out concepts for each of the shots. After selecting the six strongest ideas I re-drew final mock-ups for each one, to plan the shots better and also to send them to my model so that she could see exactly what the project was about.

When I was developing the mock-ups, I was very focused on making them work anatomically. However, when it came time to shoot the ship, we found that to achieve the shot I'd draw - we would've needed a bath three times the size of that which we used! So that one had to be re-thought on the spot. In doing so I was quite worried as to how it would turn out, but I think it actually ended up being the strongest one.
